Here Come the Seventies was a Canadian documentary television series seen nationally on CTV from 1970 to 1973 normally on Thursday nights at 9:30 (Eastern).
The programmes were produced by Philip Hobel and Douglas Leiterman who previously produced The Fabulous Sixties series for CTV. "Communications – The Wired World" was the first episode to air on 17 September 1970. Toronto electronic music group Syrinx produced the program's theme song, "Tillicum", which became a minor Canadian radio hit in 1971. I always liked "Tillicum" for it's ethnic sound and synthy licks, but I always thought that the song was too rushed and the phony electronic wind sounds at the beginning spoiled the mood. I'm going to slow it down a bit and try to reproduce it the way I think Syrinx would have done it if they weren't writing it as a television theme show. When I release it, I'll also post the original recording for comparison sake.
